DOVER — Elizabeth Short and Jacob Riley, commander of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, presented a $2,500 contribution July 7 to Joe Startt Jr., president of the Kent County chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America, for its service dog program.

Motorcycle veterans aid service dog program in Kent County

DOVER — Elizabeth Short and Jacob Riley, commander of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, presented a $2,500 contribution July 7 to Joe Startt Jr., president of the Kent County chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America, for its service dog program.

The chapter is active in the community and includes more than 230 members and 35 associate members. Its Canines Assisting Service Heroes effort has provided nine service dogs so far, with another in training. The dogs go to disabled veterans in Delaware who qualify.
