Letter to the Editor: Opening new lands for oil drilling doesn’t help us now

I’m asking the question to anyone how opening up new federal land leases to drilling now that will not produce for years will be more effective in lowering fuel prices than drilling in lands already under lease.
Secondly, the federal government can’t make privately owned companies sell oil extracted from these wells only in the U.S. They would have to do this and lower prices on their own.
Fat chance of that.
