MILLSBORO – The American Legion Post 28 family is teaming up to support a Unit 28 Auxiliary member and Post 28 employee.

Sunday, April 16 is the date for the benefit for Teresa Ziegler Townsend, who learned earlier this year she has cancer.

The event will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Post dining room and bar.

The benefit includes baked ziti dinner, Chinese auction, money boards, 50/50, basket of cheer, raffles, bake sale, and dancing to music by the band, Sticky Situation.

Organizers will be accepting baked good donations Saturday, April 15 until noon at Post 28 located on Legion Road just off SR 24 several miles east of Millsboro.

Ms. Townsend is the Auxiliary’s Legislative chairman, sharing the priorities of the Legion. She also was 2022 Member of the Year for State of Delaware Auxiliary.

In addition, as the local coordinator, Ms. Townsend spearheads the National Wreaths Across America program for the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
