House fire in Delmar under investigation

DELMAR - The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a Friday afternoon blaze that heavily damaged a house, spokesperson Michael Chionchio said.

According to Mr. Chionchio, the fire in the 36000 block of Red Berry Road in Holly Ridge was reported shortly after 2 p.m. The Delmar Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the two-story dwelling.

There were no reported injuries, Mr. Chionchio said. Fire damage is estimated at $250,000.
