DOVER — A 23-year-old Pennsylvania man accused of first-degree murder during an October 2015 home invasion in Rodney Village was returned to Delaware on Thursday, Delaware State Police said.
Matthew Harrington was extradited from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, at around noon.
State Police detectives from the Department of Justice Extradition Unit transported Mr. Harrington to Troop 2.
He was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted robbery, first-degree assault, six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of first-degree burglary, first- and second-degree conspiracy.
Mr. Harrington was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Rehoboth Beach via videophone and ordered held without bond before being transported to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
Police earlier reported that Clifton Leager, 52, was shot inside his home in the 1400 block of John Clark Road on Oct. 17. His son, Jacob, chased fleeing suspects and eventually fired a gun into their parked car, police said, striking and killing Haley Henwood, 18, of Philadelphia.
Jacob H. Leager was charged with manslaughter due to the post-home invasion chase and shooting death, police said.
Saleem Shabazz, 21, of Philadelphia, was extradited to Delaware on Nov. 3, and charged as a co-conspirator with Mr. Harrington.
Mr. Shabazz was then held without bail by the Delaware Department of Correction.
