HARRINGTON — The Harrington Public Library will hold several events throughout December.

  • Drop-off for letters to Santa is available through Dec. 14. All those received will have an answer from Santa to pick up, starting Dec. 19.
  • Free snacks will be available from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. The packs can be picked up directly from the library by those age 18 and under.
  • Beginning this week, the library will hand out free themed craft kits for children 12 and younger to make at home. The December themes are back to school and fall. Each week’s craft will be announced on Mondays on the library’s Facebook page and will be available while supplies last. There is a limit of five per family/pickup.
  • Walk-in technology help is available at the library for free. Learn basic computing, Microsoft Office or other common skills using several online tutorials and in-person help.
  • Small-town Christmas Watch Parties will be held at 5 p.m. today (“It’s a Wonderful Life”) and Dec. 22 (“Gremlins”). Holiday treats and accompanying crafts will be part of the events, which are free and open to all.
  • In-person storytime for preschoolers will be held at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room. Miss Michele and Ms. Marleena will present. After the story, kids can learn how to make an accompanying craft. Registration is required, and only 10 participants are allowed. Call 302-398-4647 to sign up.
  • A Victorian Santa Claus visit and Pop Up STEM Party will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday. Each child who attends will receive a book and candy cane. Engineer Early will also be in the library to help children pack STEM kits. Giveaways will be available while supplies last, and the event is free and open to all ages.
