LEWES – Michaela Tessein scored two goals to lead the Gold to a 3-2 win over the Blue in the Senior All-Star high school soccer game Saturday evening.
Tessein, who represented Sanford School, was named the Most Valuable Player for the Gold.
The Blue’s Gabrielle Davis, a Caesar Rodney High graduate, opened scoring early in the first half.
Skylar Salvo (Caravel Academy) scored the Gold’s first goal in the first half, knotting the score at 1-1.
Indian River’s Hannah Bird scored the Blue’s second game with just seconds remaining in the game.
Lilly Short, of Sussex Tech, was named the Blue’s MVP. She had several shots and led the Blue’s transition play in midfield.
In the boys’ all-star game, Salesianum’s Reese Peddrick scored two goals to lead the Blue team to a 4-1 win over the Gold.
St. Georges Tech’s Zachary Fantine scored the game’s opening goal for the Blue. Peddrick assisted.
Delaware Military Academy’s Joseph Eyiolowope scored the Gold’s only goal.
The games, featuring players from throughout the state, were organized by the girls and boys associations of the Delaware high school soccer coaches.
