LEWES - Delaware State Police said Jesse Drummond, 31, of Bridgeville, was arrested on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Thursday morning.
According to spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto, Mr. Drummond was stopped by a trooper when his vehicle failed to maintain its lane of travel on John J. Williams Highway at approximately 2:15 a.m. Mr. Drummond was found to have a suspended driver’s license and active warrant for his arrest.
A strong odor of marijuana was detected from the car, police said, and Mr. Drummond was taken into custody at the scene without incident. A vehicle search located approximately 15.4 grams of cocaine, 9.25 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $2,400 in suspected drug proceeds, police said.
Mr. Drummond was charged with two controlled substance offenses, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts), driving while suspended/revoked and failure to remain in a single lane.
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $33,401 cash bond.
