DOVER - The US Gas station at 505 Bay Road was burglarized early Wednesday, authorities said.

Dover police spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said officers were initially called to the business at 5:20 a.m. for an alarm. Officers located an open back door and found the front door had been broken with a rock, he said.

Investigation determined that a suspect forced entry into the business by shattering the front door and once inside removed an undisclosed amount of money and approximately $200 in merchandise.

Cpl. Schmid said there is no surveillance available for this incident and there is no suspect description at this time.

Police asked anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestopperweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
