GEORGETOWN — Firefighters will be in the spotlight of CHEER’s 12th annual Classic Car-Truck-Bike Show on Aug. 6 at the CHEER Community Center.

This year’s showcase, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will salute Georgetown Fire Co.’s 100-year-old American LaFrance fire apparatus and offer appreciation for the selfless dedication of all firefighters.

The century-old equipment will be on display during the show. And returning this year will be the popular champagne luncheon, featuring 65 feet of assorted foods prepared by CHEER’s nutrition staff.

The car show will be free to view. The lunch will be open from 11-1 for $30 each.

Organizers expect more than 100 vehicles. Trophies will be awarded in multiple classes, and dash plaques will be given to all participants. Advance registration is recommended, at the price of $50 per vehicle, which includes one lunch ticket.

Registration the day of the show will be $55 with one lunch ticket.

All vehicles must be positioned by 10. A professional judging squad will select the winners, and trophies will be awarded at 1.

To register, contact Amy Smith at 302-853-4200, Robin Greene at 302-853-4199 or Walt Koopman at 302-745-5668.

Monies raised will benefit CHEER services for Sussex County senior citizens.

Event organizers note the new traffic pattern at the entrance to the community center. Also, social distancing and mask procedures are recommended.
