SEAFORD — Timothy Feist, TidalHealth’s vice president of ambulatory services, announced the promotion of Kimberly S. Adkins to senior director of laboratory services, effective last Sunday.

In this role, Ms. Adkins will have strategic, administrative and operational responsibility for all lab services at the health system.

She has held various staff and leadership roles throughout her career, starting at TidalHealth Nanticoke, Seaford, as a medical technologist in 1999. She then moved to clinical leader of pre-analytical processes and was later promoted to both hematology supervisor and microbiology supervisor. After two years as an infection preventionist, Ms. Adkins returned to laboratory services in 2016 to serve as its director.

At that time, she had overall leadership and operational responsibility for all lab work at TidalHealth Nanticoke.

Over the past seven years, she also has been instrumental in integrating services at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, Salisbury, Maryland, and TidalHealth Nanticoke, including during the pandemic.

Ms. Adkins holds a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Salisbury University, a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington College and a certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
