Dover woman, 18, dies in two-vehicle collision

DOVER - An 18-year-old Dover woman died in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning, Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. when woman was driving a Pontiac Vibe vehicle that was struck by a Dodge Ram at the intersection of Fox Creek Road and North Little Creek Road. Police said the woman’s vehicle entered the intersection for unknown reasons.

The woman, who police said was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Identification was pending notification to next of kin.

Police said the driver of the Dodge Ram vehicle, a 42-year-old Camden-Wyoming male, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to an area with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the collision was being investigated and cleared.
