Seaford residents advised of water main shutdown

SEAFORD – Today, Wednesday July 10, the City of Seaford is shutting off a large water distribution main on Herring Run Road for repair.

This shutdown, scheduled to begin at about 8 a.m., will change the direction of water flow which will unfortunately cause the water to stir up deposits, potentially causing the water to become discolored.

Though this water is safe to consume, the city urges limited water use until the repair is completed and service returns.

Residents can turn on an outside hose or tub faucet to try and clear the water coming into their property.

The city recommends not doing any laundry during this time.

The repair work will hopefully be completed and turned back on by 5 p.m.
