DOVER -- According to the state Department of Elections, a total of 209,517 people took part in early in-person voting in Delaware.
Sussex County, with more than 90,000 people, led the state in early in-person voting.
The numbers shared Monday night show that another 36,403 people mailed in ballots.
Together, the total is 245,920.
There are 790,955 registered voters in the state.
In 2020, Delaware voter turnout was nearly 69 percent. If this year's turnout is the same, it would mean that the early in-person and mailed ballots may represent about 45 percent of the total.
