DEWEY BEACH — The Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Club will hold its annual Boat Drinks Bacchanal from noon to 5 p.m. on May 17 at northbeach in Dewey Beach.

Proceeds benefit the Milton Theatre, which will go toward construction of a new Education Wing. With the addition of this wing, the theatre will be able to provide more education opportunities to aspiring artists, young talents, and enthusiasts of all ages. The Education Wing will host state-of-the-art classrooms and rehearsal spaces

The event will feature music by Jimmy and the Parrots, games, raffles, a silent auction and an open bar. Tickets are $75 and will go on sale to the public on March 1.

Founded in 1996, the Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Club (DSPHC) is a local chapter affiliated with the international club, Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. (PHiP). With over 200 chapters around the world, PHiP’s motto is “Party with a Purpose,” with a focus on engaging with charities and causes while having fun.

Over the years, the DSPHC has raised over $150,000 for local organizations. Here are some of the local charities supported by DSPHC: Children’s Beach House of Lewes, Surfgimp Foundation, Grass Roots Rescue Society, Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park, Higher Ground Outreach, Pathways to Success, Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute (MERR), Sussex Family YMCA and more.
