CRISFIELD — If you are still unsure about the plans for testing the delivery of medical items by unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Crisfield and Smith Island then plan to attend one of four upcoming meetings hosted by the University of Maryland’s UAS Research and Operation Center (UROC).
Drone pilots from UMES and contractor DroneUp will hold informational meetings on Wednesday, July 9 first at 2 p.m. at the Ewell Recreation Center and then 6 p.m. at the Crisfield City Council meeting to be held at the Corbin Gallery meeting room and also broadcast on the city’s Facebook page.
On Tuesday, July 22 at 2 p.m. the representatives will meet with the Somerset County Commissioners (which you can attend in person or listen to online), with a drone demonstration at 4:30 p.m. preceding a public meeting at 6 p.m. at the Crisfield Library.
If you have not taken the survey about the use of drones for medical deliveries go online to https://umaryland.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cZmgRr1i8BQ76Bg?Q_CHL=qr or look for a paper survey available at the Crisfield Pharmacy, Marion Pharmacy, McCready Health Pavilion and Ewell Recreation Center.
