PRINCESS ANNE — The first Hawk Con comic convention which will showcase comic books and the creators behind them is this Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Services Center Ballroom.
Admission is $10, $5 for UMES students and children 12 and under, which will go towards scholarships for Sequential Arts students.
This inaugural event will include panels, cosplay displays, collectibles on sale, local vendors and a costume contest from 4-5 p.m. sponsored by Ocean City Comic Con.
Among the 30 invited guests is Leilani Shiu, an actress who has portrayed various characters in productions to include Teeka the Jawa in “Obi-Wan Kenobi” (2022).
Many will have their work for sale and will autograph it, or bring your own items for them to sign (some charge or require a purchase).
Delmarva Makerspace will have a free cosplay repair station dedicated to the repair of costumes.
There will also be a photobooth for $5 per photo, plus an opportunity to pickup a laser-engraved keychain made just for Hawk Con for $10. Photography and video will be allowed. For more visit https://wwwcp.umes.edu/hawkcon/.
